Last night Amy and I went to the Shakespeare play Othello playing at a baptist church in Oxford City Centre. When we first showed up to the theatre, we got our tickets but couldn't go sit down because they were fixing some technical stuff. So we went outside and sat down on some steps nearby. We sat there for a while waiting for the doors to open. While sitting there I was soaking it all up. :D it is so cool! I love Oxford. Its hard to describe it. I find it hard to describe most things here..... Brilliant, Magnificent,Quaint, Old, Beautiful, Timeless,History, Overwhelming, Grand, Amazing, Magical, Romantic (
lol)..... Those are just
SOME of the words I think of when it comes to England. Sorry, back to Othello. When the doors opened Amy and I went to go find our seats. When we did....we weren't so pleased. Our seats were 5 and 6, but there was an organ in between them. So we laughed about that. The seats themselves were horrible! There was a HUGE bar in the way so it was hard to see. We went downstairs to see if we could possibly have seats next to each other, and they told us that the gentleman that had the seat next to 6 just moved, so we could take that. So we did. But we still had a horrible view. When they announced that the play was to start in 5 minutes, we laughed. There was hardly anyone there! Or at least up on the balcony. So we decided that we would move to better seats if they didn't fill up. The seats didn't fill up, so Amy and I moved down to the first row of the balcony. I think we had the BEST seats in the whole theatre...church. :D The play it self was really good. I thought the acting was great. Though when it first started the actors did this weird dance thing...so I was a little nervous. But it was all good. :D The actors were really in character. For example, at one part, Othello had a mirror in his hand and he was shaking it really hard, and the mirror part fell out. It didn't bother him at all. There were a few more instances like that. During intermission, Amy and I shared a cinnamon and sugar crepe. It was yummy. I have a feeling I might have a few more in France.... (
hehehehe..but not to many, 'cause I don't want to get fat/sick....) After the play, which I will say again was really good, we headed for the bus stop. There were quite a few drunk people. This one girl was so drunk she couldn't walk. I'm glad I have standards that keep me away from stuff like that. The bus ride home was.....well, there were a bunch of males with...lets say, limited vocabulary...If you know what I mean. ( Thanks for the description Amy.
lol) If not, we don't need to go into it. :D
Today we went and saw Bolt at the cinema because they do a kids showing. (The child has to pay 1.30, and the adults get in free. Its cool.) I liked Bolt. I saw it last week, but the kids I watched it with were kind of loud, so I missed a bunch of it. After Bolt, we went and got some lunch. Dylanie and Lucas wanted BK, so we went through the drive through. Kristian and I ended up eating cheeseburgers at this stand/trailer, and Amy had a few bites. I wasn't feeling the greatest afterwards... After our food was consumed, we went into a shoe store to get some flip flops for Kristian and I. I found some cute Roxy ones. They didn't have any in Kristian's size. So we went to another store and looked around. Kristian found some flip flops and bought them. We decided to check out one more store. They had a bunch of Vans on sale.....so I got a pair. Its this cute pink and purple checkers. :D:D:D I like 'em. We also tried yet again to find some sandals for my trip in a week...no such luck. There was one pair, but they sadly weren't the most comfortable. Amy suggested that Dad and I can go somewhere in London. So hopefully we can find some there.
Avere un giorno felice!
McKenna :D
